Many Veterans Park staff and students arrived to school on Friday, December 1st, ready to snuggle into learning wearing their favorite pair of pajamas! announcing this month's First Mates from Veterans Park School.

Pajama Day has become an annual tradition that is part of monthly spirit days. Congratulations to each of these students who were acknowledged for being role models of RESPONSIBILITY.

Congratulations to Andrew Caron, Alexis Trikas, Rhettsmey Meak and Aaliyah David. He was killed at the age of 23, on May 10, 2010, supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, while living his dream of being a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. Members pictured with over 100 toys they collected for the annual Toys for Tots Drive. The "elves" in the Veterans Park Community Outreach Classes have been busy sponsoring the 3rd annual Toys for Tots Drive to make the holiday season brighter to those less fortunate. As students in Jennifer Scala's 7th grade English classes began their journey reading the play adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" - Ebenezer Scrooge's Ghosts of the Past, Present and Future made guest appearances.
